The turn of the 18th and 19th centuries was a time of major changes in the approach to composing for cello and keyboard instruments. To highlight this interesting time, we have decided to present stylistically and technically diverse sonatas for cello and pianoforte, starting with a composition for cello and basso continuo and ending with a sonata for pianoforte with cello accompaniment.
