One of the leading historical keyboard instruments specialists of her generation, Tzu-Yu Yang currently works as a collaborative fortepianist at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Her recording of Beethoven’s 3rd and 4th Piano Concerto in the Lachner version together with Thibault Back de Surany and The Van Swietens was released by IBS Classical España in June 2024 to great critical success.
A graduate of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, she is a much sought-after accompanist and chamber music partner.
She has performed around Europe and Asia in venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Stiftung Mozarteum in Salzburg and the National Concert Hall in Taipei.
Pedagogy is at the very core of Tzu-Yu’s musical life: she is co-founder and director of Concerto Taipei, the first Academy dedicated to Classical and Romantic Performance Practice in Asia.
Musik in der Praxis ist der Pianistin Tzu-Yu Yang zu großem Dank verpflichtet. Nachdem ein Programm ausfiel, war sie bereit, sehr kurzfristig ein Solorezital anzubieten. Das Publikum war höchst begeistert von ihrer sensiblen, gefühlvollen und virtuosen Kunst des Tastenspiels. Die durch die Pianistin erzeugte gute Stimmung zeigte sich auch daran, daß das Publikum noch lange nach dem Konzert sich in kleinen Diskussionsrunden zusammenfand. Spontane Klaviereinlagen trugen zu entspannten Atmosphäre bei.
