Elżbieta Saika-Bachler spielt Viola, Matthias Krampe, Fortepiano. Anders als die Violine, fristet die Viola eher ein Schattendasein als bloßes orchestrales Begleitinstrument. In diesem Konzert tritt die Viola aber ins Licht und zeigt sich als sonores, ausdrucksstarkes Soloinstrument.
